Southdown delivers Mental Health Recovery Services across East Sussex. Based on the ‘Recovery’ approach the aim of the service is to improve mental health and wellbeing of people with a focus on prevention, early intervention and developing a greater range of opportunities within the wider community.
We are looking to appoint a Recovery Worker at our Bexhill Wellbeing Centre who will contribute to the running of this busy service, working closely to support people to improve their mental health and wellbeing. The role will involve one-to-one support, tailored to meet the needs of each person to enable them to identify and achieve goals on their recovery journey. As well as supporting group activities, courses and workshops led by the service.
Recognising the expertise of the individual in understanding their own mental health, the successful candidate will be committed to the idea of personal recovery. With excellent communication skills, they will be confident working autonomously and managing a challenging and diverse workload.
The candidate will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to work to deadlines, enjoy problem-solving and teamwork, and have good IT skills.
