This service is currently home to five older male clients. One of these clients’ needs a high level of support because of his severe learning disability and visual impairment. The other four have their own studio flats and are much more independent. All continue to develop skills and confidence in aspects of daily life such as work experience, education, and daily living skills through the support of the team here.
The aim of the service is to support the clients to participate fully in all aspects of their home and out in the community. We work closely as a team to achieve this and to maintain our excellent standards; therefore the ability to communicate clearly and to contribute ideas is important to the continued success of this service.
The main role of Senior Support Worker involves role modelling good practice to the team, being creative in promoting active support within the service and excellent practice in relation to Great Interactions. Also supporting Staff and giving feedback, and supporting the Management team. Good practice in relation to moving and handling, excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, you will play a really important role in being the link between the team and the managers.
This post is open to current Senior Support Workers and very experienced Support Workers who have supported clients with sensory, health and behaviour needs.
